St.George's day

Baden-Powell chose Saint George to be the Patron Saint of Scouting. He felt that the Saint George, of legend, set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance.

This is why even though we are in Wales we will still be remembering the day, in honour of our Scouting heritage.

It is also Holy Saturday, the day after Good Friday, when some Christians hold a vigil to await the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. Light plays an important part with a candle being used or even an evening vigil around a brazier or fire outside.

Since we are in an old Mill and planning to climb a mountain today we will not be taking part in a parade or a vigil but those who wish to will be able to mark both in their own way. The photo is from yesterday - more of that today!
